The FIFA World Cup, usually referred to simply as the World Cup, is a football tournament male done every four years by the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).The first edition happened in 1930, in Uruguai. In 1942 and 1946 the World Cup didn`t occur because of World War II.

From 1930 to 1970 the Jules Rimet Trophy was given to the champions of each issue, but after 1970 a new cup was created called FIFA World Cup Trophy.

So, after the World War II, FIFA starts to vary the places between America and Europe which was used until the World Cup 1998.On 2002 the World Cup happened in Japan, the first out of the two continents. The cup of 2010 will be the first time in Africa.

Brazil is the country that won the World Cup most times with five wins in seven finals, and with participation in all editions of the tournament, Brazil is the most successful team in the competition.
